{"id":1718,"date":"2022-11-24T11:37:28","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T11:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/conference-three-years\/"},"modified":"2022-11-24T11:37:28","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T11:37:28","slug":"conference-three-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/es\/conference-three-years\/","title":{"rendered":"3STEPs Conference &#8211; 3 years with 3STEPs for migrants\u2019 inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3 years working with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3steps.eu\">3STEPs<\/a> towards <strong>more inclusive societies<\/strong> where young migrants and refugees are welcomed, supported and included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the 23 November 2022 final conference <strong>\u201cSocial inclusion of (low-skilled) migrants and refugees in education: join 3STEPS network\u201d<\/strong> was held in Strasboug where we talked about strategies and methodoloies to foster <strong>Education &amp; Inclusion<\/strong> of disadvantages refugee and migrant learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3STEPs approach, as the name says, is based on 3 STEPs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1) BASIC EDUCATION TRAINING <\/strong>to improve skills on literacy, numeracy and digital skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a best practice certified by the Austrian ministry, originally developed for low skilled people, then also implemented with migrant population to foster their&nbsp; integration into the national education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Basic Education Principles are the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Puts the focus on the learner and its learning needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is oriented towards existing competencias and competencies to be developed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is dialogical and reciprocal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interweaves action and reflectioon and thus enables guidance and transparency in the teaching-learning process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is critical of established knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is oriented towards content and topics relevant to the learner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2) VOCATIONAL ORIENTATION AND BLENDED LEARNING <\/strong>by role models mentors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It offers youngsters mentors to support mentees from their own ethnic communities in order to inspire them as role models in future-oriented fields and think on alternatives to traditional tranings and jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3) SOCIAL INCLUSION AND<\/strong> <strong>MUTUAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES<\/strong> for young migrants and refugees<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Directed to strengthen basic skills and social inclusion of young migrants and refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/3steps.eu\/resources\/\">3STEPs project developed different resources:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Handbook for Trainers and Mentors <\/strong>including recommendations on how to address migrants and refugees in an educational context, providing creative and innovative ideas for teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Youth training curriculum <\/strong>providing guidelines on how to implement blended teaching model for migrant and refugees\u2019 youth by mentors of the same cultural background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/network\/\"><strong>3STEPs European Network<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>for social inclusion of (low-skilled migrants and refugees in terms &nbsp;of education and vocational training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Policy brief (available in January 2023)<\/strong> including considerations for social inclusion and recommendations on 3STEPs methodology to encourage other teaching and training institutions to adapt and develop them within their countries and contexts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project has come to an end, but our effort to suppor young migrants and refugees will continue. <strong>Join <\/strong><strong>3STEPs network and stay updated about future actions in the field! <\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>3 years working with 3STEPs towards more inclusive societies where young migrants and refugees are welcomed, supported and included.
